3 Ingredient Scones

3 Ingredient Scones
Makes 12 large scones

  • 4 cups self raising flour
  • 100g cold unsalted butter cubed
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • Condiments of choice (jam, cream, lemon curd, butter)
1. Preheat oven to 200°c (180° fanforced). Place flour and butter into a mixing bowl and using your fingertips rub the butter into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs. You could also blitz the flour and butter together in a food processor instead.
2. Make a well in the centre and pour in milk. Use a butter knife to combine mixture until it forms a dough. Turn mixture out onto floured surface and knead until smooth (don't over knead as scones won't be light and fluffy).
3. Roll dough into a 2cm thick round. Using a scone cutter (any size, smaller one will give you more scones) cut out scones and place 1cm apart on oven tray. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes. Serve warm.
