Slow Cooked Beef Stroganoff

A family favourite classic beef stroganoff made even easier by cooking it in a slow cooker.

  • 1kg chuck steak cubed
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste

  • 1/4 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon Vegeta beef stock powder
  • 200g button mushrooms halved
  • 200ml sour cream
  • Fresh chives chopped for garnish
  • Olive oil
1. Heat a tablespoon of oil in a frying pan over medium high heat. Coat meat in flour and brown off in batches and add to slow cooker pot.
2. Add onion, tomato paste, worcestershire, garlic, water, beef stock, mushrooms and paprika to slow cooker pot and stir. Cook on low for 6-8 hours (depending on slow cooker).
3. Stir in sour cream 30 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped chives. Serve with pasta, mash or rice.
