Hoisin Beef Stirfry



This stir-fry is quick, fresh and healthy and perfect for a busy weeknight.

Hoisin Beef Stirfry
Serves 6

  • 800g beef strips
  • 600g shelf fresh noodles of choice
  • 1 bunch of buk choy sliced into 1 inch pieces
  • 2 carrots peeled and sliced into batons
  • 1 red capsicum cut into strips
  • 1 head of broccoli cut into small florets
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 garlic cloves crushed
  • 1/4 teaspoon Chinese five spice
  • Vegetable oil

1. In a bowl combine hoisin, soy, water, cornstarch, chinese five spice and garlic cloves. Put aside.
2.In a wok heat a small amount of oil over high heat and brown beef strips on all sides. Put aside.
3. Place broccoli florets and carrots into wok with a splash of water and stirfry for 5 minutes or until broccoli turns bright green and carrot starts to soften.
4. Add capsicum and fry for a further 3 minutes before adding the buk choy. Stirfry for a further 2 minutes before adding the beef and the sauce. Reduce heat, add the noodles to warm through and serve.
